Local USO Advisory Council Visits Fort Sill
Our local USO Advisory Council met on May 14, 2025, at the 434th Field Artillery Brigade Headquarters on Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill. The 434th Field Artillery Brigade conducts reception operations and Basic Combat Training by integrating and transforming civilian volunteers into Soldiers. Thank you to Colonel Reginald “Reg” White, Commander of the 434th FA Brigade and Mr. Jim Lucas, Deputy to the Commander for sharing an overview of how the mission is executed and an understanding of their trainee population to the Advisory Council members.
USO is actively supporting this brigade and those they train. Prior to shipping to BCT, we host enlistees in a comfortable USO room embedded in the OKC MEPS. During week seven of training, trainees visit the USO Fort Sill Center. Finally, USO always equips trainees leaving for holiday block leave with refreshments to ease travels.
