OKC Museum of Art Military Appreciation with USO
USO operations in Oklahoma enjoys a continuous partnership with the Oklahoma City Museum of Art (OKC MOA). The relationship involves the OKC MOA hosting a USO Military Kids Art Gallery with art supplied from the statewide USO Craft Camp. The Craft Camp took place at Fort Sill, Altus AFB and Tinker AFB this year and from it came beautiful pieces of art from our military youth. In collaboration with USO and the OKC MEPS, the OKC MOA opened their space to host an Oath of Service Ceremony for a formation of 29 applicants alongside the USO Military Kids Art Gallery. Remarks were provided by Mr. Bryon Chambers, Director of Education and Visitor Experience OKC MOA, CSM (Ret, Army) Bobby Wooldridge, USO Oklahoma Senior Operations Manager, and LCDR Shannon Willings, Commander, OKC MEPS. Free admission was offered to all military, and participants enjoyed a lunch to truly round out how special this day was.
“It is common to see your kid’s art in a hallway at school. It is truly special to see it on display in an art museum”, stated a Sailor from Tinker AFB.
